Read This NOW! = Y: The Last Man

y-the_last_man

“Y: THE LAST MAN, winner of three Eisner Awards and one of the most critically acclaimed, best-selling comic books series of the last decade, is that rare example of a page-turner that is at once humorous, socially relevant and endlessly surprising.”

Y: The Last Man is a comic book, which you can also purchase in graphic novel/collected edition form, about the last man on earth, Yorick Brown, and his male pet monkey. They are the only two male mammals tht survived some sort of worldwide plague. He is literally the LAST GUY on the planet! Earth is in shambles, for the most part, as women have begun to try to rebuild civilization and cope with this disaster. Yorick is on a journey to try to find his fiance` in Australia, but he is a political weapon, and many people try to hunt him down along the way. That is just the tip of the iceberg: this series is amazing.

This comic is crazy, and it’s not kid stuff either. It was put out by DC’s VERTIGO imprint, which basically means that it is for mature readers: nudity, language, violence, you get the picture. It is really good, with a great deal of twists and turns, amazing artwork, witty dialogue, and biting cliff-hangers. Brian K. Vaughan is one of the greatest comic book writers ever, and this series truly attests to that.

I’ve read a great deal of comics, but I’m no comic book geek. I remember hearing about this comic and seeing it years and years ago, but I never got into it. Why? I am a fool. Now that I’m almost done with it, I’ve got to say, I’m thoroughly impressed. This is some really great stuff, and I think any mature intellectual individual will appreciate it. It is not short of action, and it is being made into a movie (eventually). Anyway, I’m not gonna recommend some random garbage for you to check out; this stuff is legit. Trust me; or trust them: “Funny and scary…an utterly believable critique of society. A+”
—THE WASHINGTON POST

“The best graphic novel I’ve ever read.”
—STEPHEN KING

“This year’s best movie is a comic book.”
—ALL THINGS CONSIDERED, NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO

“A seriously funny, nuanced fable…Grade A.”
—ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY

^^ Don’t miss out… It runs  60 issues, or 10 collected editions. You can buy them here: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=y+the+last+man

You can also download it via torrents, but I don’t do that because I like holding the book and reading it; I don’t want to read a comic book for hours on my computer screen. However, if that floats your boat, get the whole thing for free here: http://isohunt.com/torrent_details/93335925/y%3Athe+last+man?tab=summary

Another Link You Gotta Know…

This link is a great one. I’m giving you a site I’ve been frequenting for quite a while. It has to do with fitness: all types. Whether it be lifting weights, alternative exercises and diet strategies, weight loss, and general fitness intelligence, FitnessBlackBook has got you covered. This site’s author, Rusty, is a really great guy who posts about 2 times per week. He is an advocate of that lean Hollywood-type physique, not the bodybuilder steroid inhaler. More this:425_pitt_fight_club_100506

than this:bodybuilder

Anyway, this guy will change your mentality when it comes to working out. He posts about things that you’ve probably never heard of. His posts are really well-written, and he responds to the comments, meaning that if you have a question, Rusty’s 19+ years of experience and knowledge will definitely help you find an answer. He’s really nice and respects his readers, and he always takes the time out to provide his insight in every post. This site will get you the tools and tips to be healthy and good to go. It is, in my opinion, the best fitness blog or website on the internet, and that is why it’s a link that you gotta know: www.fitnessblackbook.com

Kicks the shyt outta Blackberries. For all those fools that have Blackberries glued to the sides of their fool heads, think again man. Oh man once I get home from my awesome night out texting I lie in my bed and text and receive email while I’m texting, and then I text more to other people and tell them in the texts with text how cool my awesome night was (not to be confused how awesome my cool night was)…….. laughable.

Get serious and buy the best phone in the world. The only black berry you should own is the fruit.

I got the N95 and it is the second best phone in the world. The N96 has everything: 5 megapixel camera, DVD quality video, WiFi (wireless internet), full web browsing, voice navigation GPS, 16 gb of memory, email, games…. you can watch TV on it as well. Its got everything.

F**k the Iphone too. With this thing you don’t even need an Ipod.
